We all have them, so why not tell others about them? Who knows, you may even find a new series you never knew about!
Post a few reasons you like them, if you don't mind.
To begin, here are mine:
George R. R. Martin - He wrote one of my favorite series ever, one that isn't done yet, A Song of Ice and Fire. He's go wonderful character development, and has plots within plots, and weaves different character's points of view together to make an amazing story.
Steven Brust - The Vlad Taltos books, a series of first person stories that isn't written in chronological order, is quite good. An interesting world, assassins, and mysteries that irritate me because I can't figure them out make his books some of the best I've read.
Guy Gavriel Kay - Again, character development and immersive worlds, though his are based off of historical Earth, make his books amazing, though they have a tendancy to be tragic. He has one true fantasy series that I know of, The Fionavar Tapestry, but I like his other books better.
So, what are some of your favorite authors?

Someone has to say J.K.Rowling, ne? I really like her work, though I wouldn't sya she is my favourite author, but one of many.
Barbara Erskine has written many brilliant novels. Though I have only listened to the ones I know by her, I really enjoyed them and have made it half way through 2 of her others books but kind of forgot about them becasue I had a load of homework... >> Makes them sounds bad, but they are very good. I lovet he amount of history she puts into them and makes them seem almost real.
I can't actually think of any other authors at the moment which stand out. When I was younger I used to love Jacqueline Wilson but now, even though the books are good, she isn't my favourite anymore...
When I can think of more I shall edit this post xD

Terry Pratchett- I'm sure you all have heard me say this by now, but he's hysterical and writes well to boot. It's not just satire, it's good stories... with satire.
Strangely, I have no other authors that I read simply because I like how they write. I go more by favorite books than favorite authors.

I mostly have favorite books, but sometimes, an author is good enough that I just like all of his books. So just name your favorite series. That's fine too.
