*runs from rabid fans*
Bella Swan would be unquestionably the flattest, most warped protagonist I had ever read if Eragon had not secured the spot. She spends every moment of her existence angsting over Edward Gary-Stu, who is attracted to her because she smells nice. I'm serious. If there's a more in-depth reason, I have yet to see it.
So... comments? Agreements? Skewering?

........
>_>
<_<
............Details, please. :3
And clearly their attraction to each other is fated, by which I mean the author shoved them together. Very common in YA romance. Valid in-story reasons? What valid in-story reasons?

Two words: purple prose, although not nearly as much of it as Eragon. XD The difference is it's not purple dragon prose, it's purple ANGST prose. I think the purple ANGST prose is more annoying, though. I actually think they're okay, but I'm on the fence - they're fun to like as a sort of guilty pleasure... and they're also fun to make fun of. >DD They don't really inspire either fanatical hate OR love in me, though... I'm interested in how bad the movie will be. I don't think it'll end up even as mediocre as the books. Edward looks like a consumptive serial killer. ... srsly gaiz. if you want an example for making someone really cute but also really pale, watch TNG. >____> *cough* But of course they wouldn't, would they. No androids for us, we want to be HIP and COOL and CONSUMPTIVE.

Xicrog: Many details about the atrocities of these books can be found here. Incidentally, this website also has a similar sporking of Eragon. >_>

*pokes head in* Hope you don't mind my revivage here, but I has a story I wanted to share and I figured this would be the best place for it. :3 *ahem* So yesterday my aunt was asking me if I had read Twilight, and I replied saying that I hadn't and I wasn't interested in doing so (of course not mentioning the fact that I think it's incredibly cliché and like to make fun of it). To which she replied, "aw, you sure you wouldn't be interested? I mean, come on... there's cute vampire guys! " I promptly burst into laughter. ... XD; Yeeaah, my opinion of Twilight is pretty much based on the clichés I've heard of it. Meaning... the angsty, antisocial MC who is just SO INCREDIBLY IN LOVE with this sparkly vampire guy is pretty much the extent of my knowledge of it. So... I enjoy sporking it. Though I actually want to watch the movie, mainly so I can make fun of it. >3 (Which, I'll note, is the same reason I watched the Eragon movie. Mwaha, clichés.) Unfortunately I don't know if I ever will get the chance to watch the movie... the only way I can see it happening would be if I ever was invited to a watching of it with my youth group, who I know are all incredi-Twilight-lovers. Which would unfortunately make it hard to spork, but well... hey.

I regularly read a webcomic which reviews movies, including one they did of Twilight. Thought I would share it with you since it is pretty funny. =3 Doesn't Edward look mutated? xDI don't think replacing Bella with a cheesecake would actually affect the plot in any way, she does have the personality of a cheesecake*. *Apologies to all cheesecakes everywhere.

That is excellent. It may well top my previous favorite sporking comic: headtripcomics.comicgenesis.com/d/20080505.html

Come now children. It's as though you don't like good writing with incomplete sentences. Like this one. Or this. Oh no. Seriously. I'm actually OK with the books. However, I CANNOT STAND the abuse of the colon! It's so easy: asfljaf;sdlfj. RAWR Repetive mutilation of sentences brakes mai hart.
