Yes, it would.
What it said: If you cling too tightly/ you're gonna lose control! What I heard: If you cling too tightly/ you're gonna lose your toe!

What I heard- "The worstest shoe" What it said- "The worst eschew"
I don't even know what eschew means. xD

What it said: Oh, oh! Livin' on a prayer! What I heard: Oh, oh! Live it up, baby!
What it said: And carried bread and goat cheese in a little linen sack. What I heard: And carried bread and goachies in a little lemon sack.
And this next one I actually read from a misheard lyrics site, but I thought it was deserving of a mention. What it said: This ain't a song for the broken-hearted. What the kid heard: This ain't a song for the broken potty.
Oh, and apparently 'e-evil woman' is very commonly misheard as 'medieval woman' (including by me).

Celest - Eschew means something like throw away, I think. *shrug*
What I hear: Wha'chu need? I can pay. What it says: All you need, I can be. ((I think. Something in the section that goes 'I can be all you need, won't you please stay with me?'))
What I hear: Never needed a friend like Adonai. ((I don't hear it like that all the time anymore. Just most of the time.)) What it says: Never needed a friend like I do now.
..that's all I can think of for now.

Eschew (verb): deliberately avoid using; abstain from
What it said: So long! Fare well! Auf weidersein(sp?)! Good night! What mom heard: So long! Farewell! We even say good night!

My Bible teacher is playing jazz. And this one song had a sort of muttered chorus that sounded strangely like "I love Febreeze, man! I love Febreeze, man!"
Or maybe "I love Febreezeman! I love Febreezeman!" Because Febreezeman would be an awesome superhero.

I still maintain that the lyrics to "La Vie Bohem" from Rent go like this:
"Like Dorothy and Toto flew over the rainbow to blow up Auntie Em!"
And I may have posted this before, but I DON'T CARE. It is true.
XDD Febreezeman! Here to save the day against his arch-nemesis... uh... Mildewing Shoes!
... And yes, that's what I last used Febreeze on.

Febreezeman would indeed make an awesome superhero.
"Oh no, we just got back from the band competition and our uniforms smell like...like synthetic fibers soaked in sweat! We can't afford the dry cleaning bills! Save us, Febreezeman!"

XD A friend of mine still consistently hears the line from Within Temptation's Truth Beneath the Rose, "Give me the strength to face the wrong that I have done," as "Give me the strength to face the laundry in the dark." XDDD I dunno about you guys, but I think the misheard line is more fun.

Listening to lots of classical Christmas music and... choirs are hard to understand. xD A few of my favorite misheard lines:
"We sing of a fire and a small grenade!" "A cruel red sleigh!" "The glory of God is Phys Ed!"
And these are all songs I've been listening to since I was a little kid and I still don't know what the real lyrics are...? Sad. Well, since the second two are from the Messiah, I know in general what the lyrics are, but I still don't know what "a cruel red sleigh" is supposed to be... XDDD

Another one from the Messiah - "His mother is right!"
Which is sung many times and makes up the grand finale, so it's sort of... epic. xD I also heard it as "His mother is nice" occasionally.
Apparently it's actually "His burden is light," only they pronounce "burden" as "burthen". xD;

Well, "his mother is right!" does make Biblical sense.
Unlike "A cruel red sleigh." XDDD

I think everyone mishears this song: "She knows I'm not fond of asking." Has been misheard most commonly, I've found, as: "She knows I'm not from Alaska." "She knows I'm not fond of ruskin'."
But LOADS of other variations. The Kooks - Naive.

I still don't know what the real lyrics were 'cause this was just something I randomly heard in a store yesterday:
"We're burning in a fire like what Mrs. Murphy likes to see."
XDD So the song is about... death by burning while thinking of some pyromaniac lady we know?

XDDDD That's even better since I know a Mrs. Murphy... although I'm not sure if she'd like to see fire. Opinion, Xic?
Oh, and I forgot to mention-- I told various family members about "a cruel red sleigh" over Christmas, and we listened to the Messiah many times anyway, since it was Christmas... and we still had no ideas. XD Could it be "have gone astray?" Except that's still pretty far-fetched...
