What I heard: "Werewolves of thunder." What it said: "Werewolves of London."
Which is still just as weird.

This one song has the lyrics "Follow the road, follow the hope, follow the dream" - which I misheard as "Follow the road, follow the hole, follow the tree". Which was really stupid. How the heck are you supposed to follow a hole and a tree? XD It reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. XD And it makes about as much sense as the opening lines of the song that goes "I've got a candle/ and I've got a spoon." I just realized this is probably a drug referece. Either heroin or meth, I'm not sure....but either way the creation process for one of them involves a heat source (candles are commonly used) and a silver or stainless steel spoon.

Ah. That would make a lot of sense, given the rest of the song...

Misinterpretation rather than mishearing...sort of.
What I heard from Theocracy: Raze the kingdom, raze the kingdom!
What Matt Smith was singing: Raise the kingdom, raise the kingdom!
I still had my mind stuck in the previous refrain, which went I take my crown, cast it down/Castles burning, castles burning! I like my way more, for what that's worth. Yes, he was probably referring to the kingdom of heaven in that verse...

lol foreign power/symphonic/avant-garde metal makes for some bizarre mishearings. I keep hearing this one verse from D:S:O's Velvet Embracer as "Our hope delicious." And I know they have some strange lyrics, but that can't POSSIBLY be right...

"May the goats be with us." -What I heard from Leaves' Eyes The Crossing
The singer is pretty comprehensible compared to most metal singers (the female singer at least, the guy needs a coughdrop or several)...but this is just too bizarre to be the right lyrics, even for them...
Someday, I will stop being lazy and look up the real lyrics.

"We live to fight the hand of doom." -What Vain Glory Opera actually says
Oh, those evil bushes. Always trying to sow the seeds of disorder.

XD
Alrighty, so I was forced to go to a Kutless concert. And of course it was loud, and crazy, and they're a Christian hard rock band so the lyrics are kinda hard to understand anyway. So, in the refrain of one song, I heard the following line as the lyrics about five times:
"You are my strong salad."
Followed by
"You are my strong flower."
Eventually, I managed to figure out that it was "You are my strong tower."

What it says: You get me closer to God
Can't remember what this is, it was on an internet radio station. >_>

What I heard: I am your agony lawnmower
What Simone Simmons was singing: I am your agony- walk my way!
Another Epica one. Admittedly, Agony Lawnmower would make an amazing name for a rock band.
